Application of Chlorite Compositional Geothermometres to Hydrothermal Veins in the Variscan Flysch Sequences of the Nízký Jeseník Upland, to Alpine-type Veins
نویسنده
چکیده
Chlorites from (1) hydrothermal veins composed of quartz and/or carbonate that cross-cut unmetamorphosed to epizonally metamorphosed Variscan flysch sequences in the Nízký Jeseník Upland, (2) Alpine-type veins in amphibolites and gneisses of the Sobotín region, and (3) pegmatites of the Žulová massif and Strzegom-Sobótka massif were studied by chemical methods to elucidate the conditions of their formation. All analyzed chlorites belong to the clinochlore-chamosite solid solution series. Six various geothermometers were applied which are based on the number of octahedral vacancies, the number of tetrahedral Al and the value Fe/(Fe+Mg). Geothermometers of Cathelineau & Nieva (1985), Kranidiotis & MacLean (1987), and Zang & Fyfe (1995) yielded temperatures of formation of the chlorites that range from 167 to 300 °C (chlorites of Group 1), from 161 to 298 °C (Group 2) and from 164 to 308 °C (Group 3).

The Argash antimony ore deposit is located at south of Neyshabour and the eastern part of the Sabzevar zone. This deposit occurs within a sequence of Eocene-Oligocene volcanic-intrusion rocks. The mineralization occurs as open space filling, taking place as irregular veins, veinlets and hydrothermal breccias. The mineralogy of the veins is comparatively simple. The primary antimony-bearing mine...

Andarian area is located north of Tabriz city, north west Iran, and tectonically is a part of Ahar-Arasbaran magmatic belt. Geology of the area includes Miocene shallow pluton, Cretaceous flysch-type sediments, metamorphic rocks )hornfels and skarn( and volcanic rocks. Mineralization occurred in two stages: primary and secondary. The primary ore minerals include Au, pyrite and stibnite. Malachi...
متن کاملBarite, Hematite and Cinnabar Ore Deposits in the Dusina Area, Mid-bosnian Schist Mountains
In the Dusina area, which is built up of Lower Palaeozoic metasediments, Devonian carbonate complex and Upper Palaeozoic metarhyolites unconformably overlain by Upper Permian sediments, numerous ore occurrences have been investigated: (a) "stratabound" metamorphic hematite deposits in the pre-Devonian metasediments; (b) epigenetic veins and pipes of barite (& calcite) with accessory Hg-tetrahed...

The submarine volcanic rocks of Totmaj volcano-sedimentary sequence, located at 25 Km southeast of Kashan city, have suffered extensive non-uniform propylitization. Based on field and petrographical studies, the volcanic rocks can be classified into three alteration zones: chlorite-epidote zone, epidote zone and hematite zone. The secondary hydrothermal minerals formed in the volcanic rocks inc...
متن کاملGeochemical study of alteration zones around Au-bearing silicic veins at Zailic, East of Ahar, East- Azarbaidjan Province
The Zailic gold-bearing veins are located in the Arasbaran metallogenic zone, east of Ahar, East-Azarbaidjan Province. The most important lithologic units in this area are andesitic and trachy-andesitic tuffs and lavas of Upper Eocene age hosting vein-type gold mineralization. Theses rocks have suffered silicic, argillic, phyllic, and propylitic alterations brought about by hydrothermal fluids....
